INTERVIEW

Tell us why you chose to specialise in this branch of law?

Law, like the other branches of social sciences, is constantly evolving, and that is why the lawyer must be at the forefront of these challenges.  Among these, corruption is one of the greatest evils that affects world society, it is our responsibility to propose and implement mechanisms to reduce it, in order to generate a culture of integrity.

Based on your professional career in Corporate Law, what characteristics or values should a lawyer with a business approach have?

“Professionalism, integrity and efficiency”.  In a world as agile as the business world, highly qualified professionals are required, with an impeccable reputation and who respond, at the speed and need of their clients.

What has been your most relevant work experience, and what has it given you professionally?

Having led the Compliance area of INTEDYA, has been of the most enriching experiences I have had because it allowed me to meet the best exponents of the world of Compliance worldwide and learn from them; as well as participating in the implementation and audits of various companies at all levels.

Did your specialty in Compliance meet the expectations you had, why?

Definitely, the possibility of being part of this new stream of professionals who join to mitigate corruption in organisations and contribute to the improvement of the country, I consider it as one of the greatest achievements of my career.

Do you carry out other types of activities outside your profession that you want to tell us about?

Cooking has always been one of my greatest passions apart from law.  I always had a vocation as a chef although I never studied cooking and the love for it comes from my great-grandfather who was the Head Chef at the Hotel Bolivar in the 1920s.
