INTERVIEW

As the head of the corporate area, what are your priorities to have an efficient relationship with companies?

It is very important to know the field and the market in which your client operates.  This aspect allows you to know the needs of the company, measure the context of its sector in the market and of course clarify the challenges that lie ahead.

The lawyer must commit to the challenges of his clients ‘company and for this he must understand very well the role he must play that harmonises with the company´s ambitions.  The lawyer must promote direct, transparent and simple communication that allows a fluid relationship with the client.  A communication without barriers nor limited to the legal area, but one that covers all the growth interest of the companies.

Based on your professional experience in corporate law, what is the mission of your specialty?

Corporate lawyers have two goals.  First, to be a generator of opportunities for your client, which allows and guarantees its growth and the use of all the opportunities that the market offers.  The second objective focus on mitigating all kinds of risks that the company may have within its scenario, allowing it to reduce costs and increase profitability.

What has been your most relevant work experience, and what has it given you professionally?

Although it is true that I have actively participated in companies in the textile, construction, mining, industrial, advertising, retail, real estate and public sectors, I believe that acting in a law firm allows diversifying the professional perspective and achieving a wider and more refined expertise.

The role of a corporate lawyer in a law firm allows the client to receive cross-sectional, expedite advice with a wider approach and with freedom of action that allows a more critical and solvent support to the client.

Did your experience in the corporate area meet the expectations you had, why?

My expectations were met because they have allowed me to understand the market in a multitude of areas, that although have different activities, they aspire and have measurements and goals with a common denominator.  This experience is rewarding when your notice that the client has already run out of consultations to solve problems and what they are looking for is to make you participate in the new challenges of the business.

Dou you carry out other types of activities outside your profession that you want to tell us about?

I am passionate about travelling, I barely have days left and my love for playing football is inalienable.
